MDA Consulting has taken a decision to support The Rhino Orphanage as the beneficiary of our fund raising efforts in 2017. The orphanage is the first specialist centre that is dedicated to caring for orphaned and injured baby rhinos with the aim of releasing them back into the wild. The baby rhinos have been orphaned as a consequence of the current rhino poaching crisis.
Rehabilitation staff hand-rear the baby rhinos and they are treated by specialized veterinary staff. Natural behaviour is encouraged and human contact is restricted to give them the best possible chance of doing well when released back into the wild.
The Rhino Orphanage has set an ambitious goal of building the world’s first African Wildlife Hospital, built and fully equipped for all types of wildlife to safeguard the survival of Africa’s most critical endangered species. The facility will include a fully equipped theatre, laboratory and intensive care and high care units designed for all types of wildlife.
MDA has pledged our support in providing pro-bono contractual and legal advice around the construction of the hospital. All proceeds from our annual Collective Wisdom event will also donated to The Rhino Orphanage. We encourage our clients to participate where possible in providing raw materials or services toward this incredible initiative.
During 2015 and 2016 MDA celebrated the success of our business by giving back to the community. We select 15 projects that were highlighted by MDA staff in Johannesburg, Durban and Botswana.

MDA proudly sponsors up and coming showjumper, Sasha Reyneke on her pony, MDA’s Africa’s Wap’s Dream.
Sasha and Wap have been steadily riding up the rankings and are only 4 points away from competing in the Open Classes at the Children’s show jumping competitions. Recent results in the 1.00 PR classes include a third place in the championships at the prestigious President’s Cup event held at Maple Ridge, a sixth place in one of the classes at the Pony Rider Derby at Kyalami Equestrian Park, and they won the championship class at the Tri-Series event held at Fourways Equestrian Centre this weekend.
Sasha has recently acquired the ride on a top pony stallion, Legacy King Arthur’s Gold, owned by Midas Touch Warmblood Stud, and they have competed at their first show together. We look forward to exciting things from Sasha and her ponies, riding as ambassadors for MDA.
